So Ana-Lucia is with the “Others.” Or are they really the “Others?” Perhaps they are simply the other group of survivors and not with the people who took Walt (if scenes from next week are any indication). I guess my zombie prediction was wrong, although it would’ve been cool if they really were zombies.
What’s the Dharma Initiative? Is it a scam? And where the hell is Desmond going? Its not like theres anywhere for him to run to.
And damn, did you see Jin speaking perfect English in next episode’s trailer? Holy crap!
Too many questions.

So the whole thing is run by some operation or company calling itself Dharma, the name written on the logo.
Did ya’ll notice the Dharma logo on the shark’s tail? Killer programmed sharks!
Zombies! I’m guessing the people Jin was running from were infected with the disease Danielle was referring to in previous episodes and Desmond confirmed here when he asked if anyone was infected. Are they dead?
108! Browsing through some message boards, i’ve learned the following. The numbers add up to 108 (should’ve caught that myself before). 108 appears on the mural in the bunker, and the timer, or whatever that is, controlled by the computer. Dharma is also a concept in Hinduism. Ganesha is a Hindu god, and is referred to by 108 names, such as protector and conqueror of death. I wonder how this all plays into the show.
All the commercials leading up to this episode kept saying the fate of the survivors would be revealed. WTF?! No fate was revealed! Bastards.
I should’ve stopped myself from watching next weeks trailer. We see Ana-Lucia will be making an appearance, and that she appears to be sane, 2 things I didn’t want to know.
BTW, in last week’s episode, the numbers appeared on the bottle of medicine Desmond injected himself with.

Good season premiere episode tonight. Chance meeting between Jack and Desmond? Not so chance! Wasn’t surprised to see him in the hatch. Crazy stuff!
Jack’s wig was pretty bad. I think his patient is the chick he ends up marrying.
Looking forward to finding out what the hatch and related contraptions down there are all about.

Charlie’s band, Driveshaft, has an (un)official website at www.driveshaftband.com. There’s a page dedicated to Flight 815 on this site, with some articles about other passengers on the plane. According to this, Boone’s last name is Carlyle, and he is the COO of a wedding planning company called Carlyle Weddings.
This article talks about another guy on the plane, Harold Wollstein, a tech genius who was supposed to revolutionize the world with some new invention utilizing nanotechnology. He sat in 23C. All his research was in his laptop which went down with the plane.
According to IMDB (scroll all the way down to see actors appearing in next season’s opener), Samuel L. Jackson has a part on the show, playing “Bernard.”
My theory is that he is Harold Wollstein and he took on the name “Bernard” after surviving the crash landing, to protect his identity and his new invention, and he is also Rose’s husband. Rose, while talking to Charlie, said he was in the tail section of the plane and that she KNOWS that her husband is still alive. Rose sat in 23D. Could he have possibly been in the back of the plane temporarily, in the bathroom or something, when the plane went down? Further, could he be in cahoots with Ana-Lucia, who was also in the back of the plane?
So, we have two confirmed people in the back. Harold/Bernard, and Ana-Lucia. Both are, I believe, alive and somewhere on the island.

Did ya’ll see that the ladder leading down the hatch is broken? It only goes down a few rungs! I didn’t catch this the first time around, but noticed it after a repeat viewing.
How the hell are they going to get down there? I’m guessing Locke will construct a rope out of bamboo and climb down.

Overall, a letdown, but it was still good. I always thought Walt was the answer to everything, but I was thrown off when Danielle took Claire’s baby. When Sayeed and Charlie found her and she said the Others weren’t there, but they were coming for the boy, I knew it had to be Walt. Not Claire’s boy!
And when the rafters detected the blip on the radar, i had a feeling it wasn’t good. There was no way, at the speed they were traveling, that they could see anyone so soon. They were only about 15 miles out from the Island (15!). When we finally see the people on the boat, they all looked way to haggard and disheveled to be from anywhere but the island. These people were The Others! Danielle was not psycho, they did exist… and she couldn’t have been psycho anyway because Sayeed heard the same whispers that Danielle did.
The monster...WTF is this thing? From what we have seen/heard, it is defintely mechanical in nature, and its probably got some type of camoflauge system in place to conceal itself. Anyone see the similarities to the alien from Predator? I thought for sure we’d get a real glimpse of what this thing is.
The hatch...not too shocking what we discovered here. Again, I had a feeling about this thing too. They had only dug up a little bit of it, and they themselves said they didn’t know how big the interior of the hatch was. I’m going to guess whatever’s down there controls the “monster.”
Numbers...they were everywhere. Hugo’s Land Rover, on the dashboard: 42km 23 degrees C, 16kph - 15kph - 8kph - 4kph. Scooter bought for $1,600, and as he rides through the airport, he passes by a girl’s soccer team..number’s on their jersey’s? 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42...in order. Hugo’s gate number: 23. Reward for Kate’s capture: $23,000. And of course, the numbers were also on the hatch. Sawyer’s dad shot himself when he was 8.
It’s going to be a long summer without Lost.

Wow! Good episode!
Dr. Arzt: who is this guy? He seems to show up just at the right moment, offering sage advice to everyone. Notice how the letters in his name, rearranged, spell “Tzar.” Hmm..could he perhaps be the ruler of the island?
Ana Lucia: If alive, i think she is in league with Arzt/Tzar. They’re up to something. What, I do not know. It seems too much of a coincedence that they show her at this point in the show. But, I don’t think she is part of the original group of “The Others” that Danielle keeps referring to. She said they took her baby, after she arrived at the island, which was almost 16 years go. Ana Lucia is a new arrival. Could Arzt/Tzar have somehow brainwashed her?
Sun & Jin: Man, that was a cool scene, when they made up. I almost shed a tear. That was perhaps one of the best scenes in the show so far, as far as character interaction is concerned.
Sawyer: I think it was good of him to let Jack know about time spent with his father in the bar. I almost shed a tear during this scene also.
Looking forward to the season finale next week. 2 hours of Lost goodness!

Dude, how annoying is she?! They should have killed her off instead of Boone. And she’s a terrible actress!
