Watching the first few minutes of 24 here, and the commercials weren’t kidding around when they said everything would change in the first 10 minutes.

HOLY-FUCKING-CRAP!!!!!!!!!

Palmer...DEAD! Michelle...DEAD! Tony...almost dead!

What is going on?!

Update:

So now that I’ve had some time to get over the initial shock from the first ten minutes of 24, here are my thoughts/analysis. Overall, I think it was an excellent start to a new season. None of the previous season openers have been as exciting as this one.

Highlights:

• Assassination of David Palmer


• Michelle blowing up


• Jack putting Derek (the kid) in his place..."the only reason you’re conscious is because i don’t want to carry you”...badass!


• Jack putting a bullet in the head of Palmer’s killer..badass!


• Jack sneaking into a building full of 120+ law enforcement people, not getting recognized, then somehow escaping after being found out...badass!


• Chloe getting some action


• Edgar


• The Mole - at least he isn’t in CTU. My guess is that he will be discovered by episode 10. I am also theorizing that Chloe’s sex buddy is a mole.

In terms of plot, all the characters seem to be tied into the same storyline...knock on wood. Good to see there isn’t any bullshit with Kim Bauer and her escapades...although she is supposed to be back this season. There could be some possible unnecessary trouble with Diane and Derek, but that storyline looks to be on track ok so far and I hope it doesn’t get too out of control. I’m really quite sad to see David Palmer and Michelle dead. David Palmer was one of my favorite characters and I was really hoping he’d have a prominent role this season. I will hold a silent vigil in their memory and honor tomorrow.
Anyone recognize the bad guy’s leader as Major Mike Rivers from Airwolf, version 2.0?
