Finally checked out The Interpreter on DVD. Ok movie...several plot points went over my head and seemed to be unexplained.

I like Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. Good actors.

The alternate ending (which wasn’t used but included on the DVD) seemed too idealistic. Never would it happen in the real world. Politics just don’t work that way. Glad it wasn’t used.

    i just saw it on dvd the other day too… but my ‘special’ copy didn’t include the alternate ending… what happened?

    In the “real” ending, we hear Nicole Kidman reciting the names of all the people killed by the African president dude. In the alternate ending, we’re shown Nicole Kidman and African President speaking the names of all those he killed in front of the UN Assembly, while everyone listens attentively.
